15 years in Russian farming business  The Russian-German EkoNiva Company has been in Russian farming business since 1994. Its history began with endeavours in organic farming. Those were the first attempts to create Russia’s market of organically grown products.
Today, the EkoNiva group of companies is a major multi-faceted agricultural holding comprised of 25 enterprises in 16 regions of Russia (Moscow, Voronezh, Novosibirsk, Kirov, Kursk, Kaluga, Tula, Ryazan, Vladimir, Smolensk, Orenburg, Belgorod, Yaroslavl, Altai Territory, Kostroma, Barnaul) and in Tatarstan Republik. More than 2,5 000 highly skilled specialists work here.
Main activities
Supply and service of agricultural equipment
EkoNiva supplies on the Russian market advanced agricultural machines and equipment built by the world’s leading manufacturers such as John Deere, Kverneland, Vaederstad, Grimme, JCB, Lemken, BvL, Annaburger, WestfaliaSurge, Schulte, Schaeffer, Einbock, Degelman, and Twister. It provides servicing and repair and supplies spare parts. Also, it permanently expands the service network, opening maintenance centres all over Russia.
Since 2006, EkoNiva is the largest dealer of John Deere corporation in Europe. It sells 30% of its machines in Russia.
Agricultural production
EkoNiva agricultural enterprises operate in Voronezh, Kursk, Kaluga, Orenburg, and Novosibirsk regions. The total area of agricultural lands exceeds 100,000 hectares. Grown here are cereal crops, potatoes, fodders, rape, and other agricultural crops. Also, the farms produce stock and foundation seeds. Farming enterprises are actively involved with production of dairy products and raising cattle for meat. The horned cattle stock amounts to more than 12,000 animals, including 6,000 milch cows. EkoNiva agricultural enterprises are a pilot plant for optimisation and introduction of advanced agricultural technologies, and for testing innovative farming machinery of the world’s leading manufacturers.
Seeds supply and agricultural consultations
EkoNiva presents on the Russian market the latest brands of European-selected farm crops. Those are today’s best brands of brewing and fodder barley, spring and winter wheat, peas, potatoes, fodder crops and rape. Offered to customers are both imported seeds of European origin and those reproduced at the EkoNiva farms. The specialists of EkoNiva provide advice on biological specifics and technological features of raising European brands. Also, they help farms to optimise crop husbandry.
Russian-German cooperation
The EkoNiva Company is actively involved with the agrarian and political life of Russia and Germany. It coordinates the German-Russian Agrarian and Political Dialogue project in association with the Agrarian Committee of the State Duma, the Federation Council, German Bundestag, Russian Ministry of Agriculture and German Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection.
